With smart phones and extensive use of digital platforms we are in a scenario where we have to either be sharp at our memory or we need more time to manage our assets. Email Ids, bank accounts, social media profiles- home and officially separately, demat-trading account, mutual fund investments, ITR filing and increase the list with your usage. Unless we are robots it’s difficult to manage each of these digitally because you need to remember passwords to access them. Add to this birthday anniversaries of friends or relatives the life really becomes too cumbersome to manage our affairs.
If you make a list of your to do list today then you will find that there is a need to manage all your things in a much simpler way. Technology has surely made it easier but then there are so many that it too become confusing to decide which one is more efficient. In my view all of them are till they are helping you to manage your affairs-financial or non-financial efficiently.
Here I am listing down 9 tech tools which helps you not only in managing your personal finance but other areas of works too:
1. Perfios
It’s a great tool by any independent company which I have been using it for three years. Right from your bank accounts to your loans to your insurance, investments or even household budgeting you can use this tool extensively for managing your personal finance. You can set alerts based on your need which ensures you are notified through email or sms as and when any payment arises. The report generation is also good wherein it can give you your net worth position on a specific date. The pricing of the product is quite reasonable. Although Aditya My Universe has been competing with it I have stick to Perfios for a reason that it is from an independent company and I do not get bombarded with unwanted emails. A must tool to manage your financial affairs.
2. Expense Manager
It’s a web based tool with mobile application available. Through this you can track your expenses day in day out. One of the good features it has is that you can store it in cloud or download it in excel for your convenience. For most who want to create a good discipline with their finances will find this tool highly efficient in making you aware as to what’s happening with your money.
3. Excel
Excel has been and will be a wonderful tool in managing anything. The sheer flexibility gives you enough scope to create input/output as per your wishes. If you are good at it you can use excel very well. If you want some ready made excel tools for loans, savings, investments, net worth etc… then there are lot many available. Google it and you can download numerous excel based calculators from various websites. One I know and quite handy at finding such tools is www.vertex42.com. This one website will give you enough excel based tools for managing your personal finance. Try for yourself and see how they are good at.
4. Mo-Minder
You may keep a calendar for remembering your friends/relatives birthdays or anniversaries. But Mo Minder gives you a great tool to do it with more ease. With a simple login you can add the date of the birthday/anniversaries of your known and the tool sends you a reminder 7 days ahead to ensure you have enough time for sending your wishes with nice gifts. If it’s been difficult for you to remember so many dates try this tool.
5. LastPass
One of the great tool I have liked and use extensively for my work. With everything going digital it is a humongous task to know each password which you have created. LastPass helps you storing all your digital logins credentials at one place. This is how it works. Every time you create a login you can ask LastPass to save it. With all logins details it stores them in a vault which only you can access. On your personal computer it also eases your task by auto login features whenever you visit a particular website again. It also has a flexibility to generate password on its own as and when you ask it. In the vault you can see all your logins created by you. So with last pass you will need to remember only one login detail and that is of LastPass itself.
6. CamScanner
With smart phones there are so many advantages. Wide number of applications helps you in making your life simpler. Many a times you have to send documents somewhere but getting a printout or a scan is tough if you are at a mobile location. CamScanner make that task easy. With this mobile application you can scan documents from your mobile phones at any location and send it to the destination you have to.
7. Evernote
No need to maintain a physical notebook for making your notes. With Evernote you can create notes as you are working or in discussions and share it with whomever you want to even while you still discussing. A web based/mobile application easily downloadable at your desktop. It has been adding more features like creating checklist for any task and saving your searched articles or feeds to read it a later time. Try the tool once and see its effectiveness.
8. Pocket
Again a great tool for readers. Many a times we do research on lot of things and find good content which we will like to read later. The option we have it is to download and save it on our desktop. Pocket make this easier by savings your researched items on a web based platform so that you can read it from anywhere you are. You need to just login to your account and search for the item you saved. You can do it for any kind of task you are doing.
9. DropBox
We do not want hassle of storing physical documents and create a physical store. When we are going digital then we would like to create a store digitally. Also many things we would like to share with friends/colleagues personally or officially. Dropbox provides a great resource to achieve this task. You can save whatever data you wish to and access it anywhere in the world. The good part is that it is a desktop application where it works much like a desktop folders. You just save the items in the dropbox folder and access your internet. The data gets uploaded in your web based drop box account. Google Drive and Microsoft are competing with it bit still dropbox remains a choice for me. Although DigiLocker has been launched by the government the security issues need to be addressed in more detail.
With a hectic work life balance we need tools which can support our busy schedules and make us more efficient. Above 9 I have seen and have personally experienced. There will be many more which can be used for different task. You may choose as per your convenience but tools like these do make managing your affairs much simpler. Try some of them and see the difference.
